Veteran trade union leader, social activist and political leader Bibhuti Ranjan Panda passed away following kidney failure in a private hospital at Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
Hundreds of trade unionists, workers and associates of the late leader gathered near Utkal Port and Dock Mazdoor Union office at Paradip for paying tributes, where Panda’s body was kept for a few hours before it was taken to his native village Bijipur under Kujanga block for last rites performed on Thursday evening.
MP Kulamani Samal, trade union leader Sudhakar Mantry, Pitambar Tarai, Askhya Rout and Baburam Choudury condoled the death of Panda.
