The Paradip Port Banik Sangha celebrated Durga Puja peacefully amid pomp and gaiety.
The Mahotsav started with Nabadinatmaka Puja on September 20 passed off with rituals of Bilwadhibas, Mahasaptami, Mahashtami, Sindhi Puja and Balidan in a devotional ambience. Cultural programmes were held with famous Odia cine artists and singers performing on the stage on September 28 and 29 and popular singers and dancers from Kolkata and Mumbai performing on October 1.
A grand procession was taken out though the Port township for immersion of the idol. Sangha president Santosh Kumar Pattnaik, secretary Niranjan Mohanty, assistant secretary Debabrata Sahoo and all Puja committee members coordinated the programme.
