The Paradip Oil refinery conducted a community awareness programme on May 4 on safety, environment and CSR, involving the elected representatives of Gram Panchayats of four adjoining villages such as Dhinkia, Paradipgarh , Kothi and Bagadia.
Educating people living in the neighbourhood and sharing information on environment, safety and disaster management has been a key component management initiative by the refinery.
In this familiarization programme, a presentation was made in Odia language by F&S and HSE departments of the refinery on state-of-the-art technologies and systems adopted for protection of the air, water and land and preserving ecology and bio-diversity in the area.
The latest technology on safety, fire protection and disaster management facilities installed in the refinery were also presented. The villagers were advised not be panicky in any case ad what to do in case of any major emergencies. Various CSR activities carried out by the refinery were also discussed.
