The annual celebration of the Paradip Laughing Club (PLC) took place on September 1 here. Club chairman Dr Kailas Chandra Maharana presided over the event, while secretary Sushant Kumar Pattnaik presented the annual report.
During the celebration, it was highlighted that the club had undertaken a commendable initiative of planting 3,000 palm trees in the surrounding area, including the Paradip Beach, to protect the natural environment.
In this context, the new leadership team for the upcoming year was unanimously elected. The club's advisory council now includes Niranjan Khuntia, Gagan Bihari Sahu, Akshay Chandra Sutar and Dr Kulamani Samal as members. Dr Kailash Chandra Maharana continues to be the club's chairman, while Er Kali Prasad Mishra was elected as the vice chairman, Anant Kumar Das as the general secretary, Sushant Kumar Patnaik as secretary and Gautam Naik as treasurer. Additionally, 11 members were elected to the executive committee.
