Ahead of the general election, the BJD has started gathering popular faces to add glamour to its campaign. In the process, Odia comedian Tatwa Prakash Satpathy aka Papu Pom Pom joined the party after meeting party president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at his residence here Sunday. “Papu Pom Pom, who is joining the BJD, will prove to be an asset for the party,” Patnaik said.
On reporters’ question whether he would contest Assembly elections, Papu said, “I have not thought about that till now.”A few months back, leading Odia film actor Anubhav Mohanty had joined the BJD. Mohanty and Papu had involved themselves in the party’s campaigning for the recently-held municipal polls.
