Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced assistance of Rs 10 lakh from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the family of Mahakalpada rape and burn Dalit victim Sujata.
Patnaik’s move was observed as a panic reaction to the developing volatile situation in the State in the wake of 14-year-old Sujata’s death on Thursday night, ending her 12-day-long battle for life.
The girl’s funeral was held at the Swargadwar in Puri on Friday.
