Published on:

Panic gripped Jajpur Road on Thursday when a wild bear came out of the nearest Ranipada farm house jungle and entered the urban area giving tension to the forest and police personnel.

Thousands of people of the Vyasanagar Municipality and adjacent areas come out to see the wild animal. But the bear rushed towards the drain that runs on the boundary wall side of the SDPO office near Chorda Chhak.

The forest officials headed by Cuttack ACF Sampad Mohanty, Wildlife Specialist Dillip Singh and SDPO Jugol Kishore Das made several attempts to catch the bear from morning, but all went in vein.  On the other hand, police tried their best to control the traffic jam on the whole day as the Chorda Chhak is a main connectivity to Keonjhar, Kalinganagar, Dhenkanal, etc.
