Process for construction of a permanent platform for immersion of idols by the side of a cremation ground and renovation of a water body near Nuiajodi has started with the initiative of MP RK Jena. Under his persuasion, a team comprising the Executive Engineer PWD and SDO Drainage and Irrigation visited the spots to assess the feasibility.
The team besides stating that a concrete platform could be built in the place after filling the earth also said renovation of the dilapidated water body was possible.
MP Jena said, “There have been demands from the locals and the committee members of Muktidwar, cremation ground, to renovate the lake like structure and construct a concrete platform near Nuaniajodi. A team of technical persons visited the site and informed that the project was possible.”
“During immersions of idols, especially during Durga Puja, the organizers face a lot of difficulties. With the concrete platform the immersion would be much easier. Besides, we have a plan to renovate the dilapidated water body and extend boating facilities and develop a garden, which could help people for relaxation,” said Jena.
