Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday formed a committee to look into the problems of the retrenched employees, who had worked under the Centrally-sponsored Post literacy Programme (PlP) between 1995 and 2005.
He asked the committee to submit its report on the problems of these retrenched employees within 15 days with suggestions for their possible rehabilitation. The three-member committee will have the Development Commissioner as its chairman while the School and Mass Education Secretary and Finance Special Secretary will be the other members.
The State Govt in 2005 had retrenched the PlP employees who were employed between 1995 and 2005. Since then, these employees have been demanding their reemployment in posts similar to their earlier jobs. At present, there are over 10,000 retrenched PlP employees.
