As part of its ‘Music in Park’ programme, the Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) on Saturday will host a unique musical night for eminent classical singer Pandit Jasraj at the Indira Gandhi Park in association with SPICMACAY.
To be held at 6 pm, the musical programme of Padma Vibhushan Sangeet Martand Pandit Jasraj, doyen of Hindustani classical music, will be much more colourful with participation of Pandit Ram Kumar Mishra on tabla and supported by Sougata Banerjee.
The entire programme is free and is intended to instil an ever-lasting bonding with classical music, dance and Indian cultural traditions.
The BDA has decided to organise two major ‘Music In Park’ programmes in a year with eminent musicians of the country at city parks in line with events held regularly in Delhi’s Nehru Park.
It can be mentioned here that Bhubaneswar will be the third city in the country after New Delhi and Jaipur to organise such music programme in public parks. SPICMACAY has been conducting cultural programmes through volunteers and mainly with youth volunteers and students.
