Panda hid in old woman's house

At the time of his arrest, Sabyasachi Panda had taken the house of an old Telugu woman on rent temporarily for a period of 20 to 30 days.

The house is located at Mangalbarpetta Street in the Badabazar area of Brahmapur. The son of the Telugu woman had gone to Visakhapatnam for his treatment.

As per the direction of Brahmapur SP Anirudh Singh, a team of local police in plainclothes made a surprise raid on four nearby houses including the ultimate one from which the Maoist leader was nabbed.

The police personnel climbed atop the roofs of the house at about 1 am (past midnight) and then got down to the yard and broke open the door of the room to nab Panda, who was staying there alone.
