A poor student was denied access to the examination hall because of outstanding school dues in Pallahara area.
Sidheswar Behera of Bharatiya Vidya Niketan, Injid, under Khamar police station of Pallahara block could not clear his school dues in time. The outstanding due was Rs 5,000 out of which he had deposited Rs 3,000. But the headmaster of school demanded clearance of full dues and did not allow him to enter into the exam hall.
While the Government is spending a lot for the education of poor SC and ST students, the case of Sidheswar has invited criticism from all corners. The family of Sidheswar has lodged complaints with the Sub-Collector, Pallahara and the Collector, Angul.
Sub-Collector Ajit Kumar Pradhan, meanwhile, asked BEO Chitta Ranjan Parida to conduct an inquiry into the matter.
