In a shocking development, the unofficial website of the Regional Transport Office (RTO), Ganjam, www.rtoganjam.com, has been hacked by a suspected Pakistani national.
A banner of an unknown organisation, Pakistan Cybercrew, is being displayed on the website. Besides, the National Flag of Pakistan written with ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ is also displayed on the homepage of the hacked website.
Besides a message, “Our main aim is to separate Kashmir from India and take the same to our fold.” The suspected hacker, who has named himself as Abas Ibrahim, has also vociferously mentioned that he is capable of hacking the website of the Education Department of Odisha and any other website of India as well. He has posed a challenge stating that, if it has power, let the Govt of India stop hacking. Till the last report came in, RTO officials have blocked the website and filed a complaint at the Chattrapur police station.
RTO Sanjay Kumar Biswal said, “All the data in the departmental nic website is safe. The database had been shifted to the Govt website and the earlier one was not operational since last one month. The website we opened to provide information was hacked and we have blocked it. We have taken all the necessary steps as per the cyber law.”
Southern Range DIG Amitav Thakur has ordered a probe into the matter. Responding to the development, Crime Branch ADG BK Sharma said the CB Cyber Cell has already started the probe. “We are trying to trace the IP address of the hacker. This was not the official website of Ganjam district RTO. A test website was hosted by the initiative of RTO for public convenience,” he said. After Puri train arson case, the website hacking case in the district has raised serious concerns over the security measure in the State.
