In a major breakthrough, the Jharkhand’s Simdega district police on Saturday arrested hardcore criminal and Pahadi Cheetah area commander Simon Kereketta (25).
The police seized a country-made rifle and six live bullets from his possession. Simon belongs to Barahdema village under the Talsara police Station in Sundargarh district.
It is a great success that hardcore criminal Simon was arrested. Earlier, some top leaders of Pahadi Cheetah, the Jharkhand-based criminal outfit, were mowed down jointly be Sundargarh and Simdega police, informed a police official of Sundargarh district.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team led by IIC of Simdega district’s Kurudega police station Budharam Oram conducted a raid on Simon’s hideout in Jajara village and nabbed him. Recently, Simon had killed a Kurdega-based businessman Mahammad Ajahar while snatching away his motorcycle. Police have recovered the said bike from Simon’s possession too, police source said.
It may be noted here that Pahadi Cheetah has been indulged in criminal activities in Odisha-Jharkhand border area for many years. The members of the outfit had reportedly killed six villagers in first of the current year.
