Amidst the scare of new strain of coronavirus in the State, Cuttack-based social worker and tea seller Padma Shri D Prakash Rao has tested positive for Covid-19 and is undergoing treatment at the SCB Medical College Hospital here. His health condition is stated to be stable.
Rao was conferred with the prestigious Padma award for providing education to poor children free of cost. He runs a small school at Buxi Bazaar here to provide free education to slums kids from Classes-I to V. Besides, two district Collectors have been infected with the deadly virus in the State. Bhabani Shankar Chayani, the Collector of Cuttack, and Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha have tested positive for Covid-19, official sources said on Friday.
While Chayani is in home quarantine, Saha has been admitted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack.
