Additional Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Sarat Chandra Panigrahi on Tuesday suspended the secretaries of Jadupur PAC and Ameipal PAC, who are husband and wife, for their alleged involvement in selling paddy to black market on the token of farmers.The duo suspended have been identified as Ajitbandhu Samantaray and his wife , Miyanka Beura.
According to official sources, the matter has come to the fore about the nexus of duo with paddy traders as one Sarojkant Behera, a farmer of Ameipal , came to know that paddy had been sold on his token and money had been withdrawn without his knowledge,when he came to provide his paddy to the PAC on February 24.
Behera lodged a complaint before the district Collector in this regard. Acting on direction of the Collector, the ARCS conducted a probe and the duo secretaries were found guilty in the inquiry.
“ The district Collector directed me to place the duo husband and wife under suspension for their alleged involvement in corruption and negligence in duty," added Panigrahi.
