Paddy procurement in B'garh from Nov 15

Published on:

Paddy procurement in Bargarh district will begin on November 15 and a control room will be opened to facilitate the process during the Kharif season here.

The farmers of Bargarh have harvested paddy before the procurement time this year. More millers have been appointed to procure paddy this time than in the previous year.

As per sources strict action would be taken against the officials who have been assigned for the purpose if they neglect their duties or resort to illegal means for vested interest, said district Collector Anjan Kumar Manik.

A phone number, computer and internet will be available in the control room during paddy collection period.

A farmer can sell 18 quintals of paddy per acre at irrigated areas, whereas for the non irrigated areas, the farmer can sell 12 quintals. Manik instructed the millers and agencies for smooth running of the procurement.
