A review meeting on paddy procurement was held under the chairmanship of district Collector Pramod Das here.
The procurement target in the first phase of the Kharif season is 11,47, 058 quintals of paddy. For A grade and other grade, the prices per quintal are Rs 1,590 and Rs 1,550 respectively.
Through online 63,000 farmers have registered for the procurement which began from November 15 and a farmer can sell up to 50 quintals of paddy. Any grievances of the farmers would be addressed swiftly and for the cause, a control room has been set up in the Civil Supply Department. The beneficiaries can call the control room at 06782-265741.
In the meeting, stress was laid on procuring custom milling rice within stipulated period, coordination between millers and societies ,agreement with PACS , besides sorting out difficulties encountered by famers.
MlAs JP Dash, Jyotiprakash Panigrahi, Gobinda Chandra Das , ZP resident and vice president Nibedita Mohanty, and Gouranaga Padhi respectively , CSO Jayshankar Prasad Manipatra , president of rice millers association Swaroop Das, secretary Dipak Ranjan Das and several other department officials were present.
