Locals here have been repeatedly complaining about irregularities in paddy procurement at Bishalpali market yard under Bhatli Block of Bargarh district which is controlled by Ramadevi SHG but the district administration has just lent a deaf ear. According to sources, the SHG has made over 100 fake farmer cards by resorting to malpractices in kharif season 2020-2021. Noncutivated land, Government land, ponds, playgrounds have been shown as cultivated land and farmer ID card has been issued by the SHG on those lands. Numerous allegations have been levelled against the SHG for corruption but no action has been taken till date, said Dibakara, a farmer. The matter has also been conveyed to the State and district administration and even the Vigilance department also but no action has been taken against the culprits.
The local farmers alleged that some RMC and supply office staff, purchasing agents, millers and Dalals were hand in glove in the corruption in paddy procurement and demanded action against them.
