The demand for a Special Category Hospital (SCH) for Jagatsinghpur has further got momentum after an all-party meeting endorsed to continue the stir until fulfilment of the demand.
The Jagatsinghpur Bikash Manch and members from Urmilochan Pathagara have offered to launch a Padayatra from Naugaon to Bhubaneswar from July 5.
According to the organisers, the participants would converge at Bhatina village under Naugaon block on Thursday evening where the Padayatra would be kick started. After covering a few areas, the participants would hold a public meeting at Naugaon Bazar.
Next day, the Padayatra would proceed towards Jagatsinghpur headquarters. From the headquarters, the Padayatra would proceed to Cuttack through NH 55 covering areas of Jagatsinghpur and Biridi blocks.
The Padayatra would culminate at Bhubaneswar on Monday and the participants would urge for a meeting with Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Health Minister Pratap Jena and would hand over a memorandum, informed Padayatra organiser Pramod Kumar Swain.
Swain informed that MlAs from Jagatsinghpur district, two MPs and State Planning Board Deputy Chairman Bishnu Das have been requested to participate in the Padayatra
