Vigilance police on Sunday arrested Pradipta Kumar Mohanty, In-Charge Range Officer (Territorial) of Padampur forest range in Bargarh district, on the charge of demanding and accepting `20,000 as bribe to issue an enquiry report and pass a bill in favour of a forester.
Acting on the complaint of Nrushinganath range Forester Prayag Pradhan, the sleuths laid a trap and caught Mohanty red handed while taking bribe from Pradhan in his office room. “Mohanty has been arrested and would be produced before court soon. More investigation is on,” said the Sambalpur Vigilance SP.
