A 65-year-old man, Nundulal Boipao, was injured critically as he was bitten by a bear when he along with his daughter-in-law was collecting mahua flower in a forest near his Purunapani village of Batisuania gram panchayat under Pallahara police limits on Monday.
His daughter-in-law narrowly escaped the bear attack. Hearing from her, villagers rushed to the spot and rescued Nundulal. They then took to Pallahara medical.
Tribal community leader Laxman Hemram urged the Pallahara Forest Range Officer to bear Nandulal’s treatment cost and provide him financial support.
