The Outreach International Radio Fair 2017 will be held at the Unit III Exhibition Ground here from February 12 to 14.
Eminent radio personnel will be given Outreach National Radio Award. The awardees will be selected on the basis of maximum number of nominations and remarks of Jury committee. The award comprises of six categories, such as ‘life time achievement award’, which will be given to a person who has delivered excellence in the field of radio broadcasting throughout his/her life. ‘Award for best use of radio in public service’ will be bestowed on the person who has used radio for wellness and development of public. ‘Popular radio presenter of the year award’ will be presented to the one who has gained popularity in the masses by his/her style of presenting a programme. ‘Popular radio programme of the year award’ will be given to the one who hosts/produces the most popular radio programme among the vast audience.
To encourage and recognise excellence in community broadcasting ‘community radio station of the year’ will be conferred to the community radio station which has delivered community based content as well as has worked for the development of the community with active local involvement.
Besides there will be a special award category named as ‘Radio listener of the year’. It will be bestowed to the one who has been a dedicated and active listener throughout his life. There were separate awards by different organisations for community radio, All India Radio and private FM, before. This award is the only Radio Award of India which will unite the three horizons in one platform.
