Parents of a 24-year-old girl, who had died in a road accident in February 2014, have alleged that a youth had preplanned the accident to kill their daughter after abusing her sexually.
Santilata Sahu of Ekatali in Jharsuguda on Monday submitted memorandums to the DGP and the State Women Commission urging them to conduct proper investigations to unravel truth behind her daughter Rani’s death. “She has been killed after being sexually abused and blackmailed by a youth,” alleged Shantilata.
She also lodged a complaint in this regard at the Jharsuguda polie station. The police have started preliminary inquiry into the matter.
According to family members, Rani had died on February 16, 2014 after being hit by a truck near the Motanga police station in Dhenkanal district. Her body was cremated by them at Jharsuguda.
But later from her mobile phone, they got to know that Rani had exchanged SMSs with one Milan Mohapatra. The boy had used filthy language in his messages. After her death, Milan along with another person also frequently visited their house and was asking for the mobile phone and laptop of Rani and threatening them at gunpoint. “From this, we suspect that she has been murdered in a preplanned way by Million and his friend,” said Shantilata.
