Odisha Union of Journalists (OUJ) president Prasanna Mohanty in a message expressed his gratitude to media adviser, Government of Odisha Manas Mangaraj and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik for media-friendly decision in declaring working journalists of State as “Frontline Corona Warrior” particularly in ongoing Covid pandemic. Mohanty further pointed out that, currently there is a growing demand, among working journalists, for increasing existing insurance amount from `2 lakh to minimum `5 lakh to meet growing healthcare needs since costs of medicines and healthcare services in recent times have increased manifold. Mohanty suggested Government that if there is a fund deficit, the State Government can deduct a small amount from advertisement money being provided to different media by Government.
