The lawyer and the PRO of OTV MD Jagi Mangat Panda on Wednesday appeared before the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) in connection with the alleged gang-rape of a minor girl in Bhubaneswar in April and May.
Besides, the girl’s mother deposed before the commission.Earlier, the commission had asked the OTV MD, the Bhubaneswar DCP, the complainant and the Crime Branch’s investigating officer to appear before it on the day. During the hearing, the girl’s mother brought some serious allegations against the OTV MD. Her lawyer alleged that Jagi Panda had met the girl twice before the police complaint was lodged and threatened to kill her and her mother if she disclosed the matter to anyone.
“The minor girl disclosed about the threat around 10-15 days ago. The OTV MD is intentionally not appearing before the commission,” said the lawyer.
OSCPCR Chairperson Sandhyabati Pradhan said statements of both the sides were recorded. The next hearing of case would be held on December 2 and a notice has been served to the OTV MD asking her to personally appear before the commission.
