Acting on a disproportionate assets acquisition allegation, Vigilance police on Friday conducted simultaneous searches in the houses and office room of Finance Controller of OTDC, Bhubaneswar, Pranab Kumar Chand at different places and found movable and immovable assets worth Rs81,74,053 in his name. Chand’s residential Plot No 173 at Chakeisiani, residential Plot No 1423 at Jagannath Nagar and his office room at the OTDC here were searched.
During searches, movable assets like costly household articles and motorcycle amounting to Rs4,38,850, gold and silver ornaments of Rs4,60,187, bank and insurance premium deposits of Rs12,70,000 and hard cash of Rs52,500 were detected. Similarly, immovable assets like two three-storied buildings at Jagannath Naga and Chakeisiani total worth Rs28,01,718, five numbers if plots at lingipur, Samantarapur, Gadakana, Janla and Govindaprasad worth Rs20,50,789 and advance amount of Rs11,00,000 paid for purchase of Flat No 203 at Rajendra Enclave, Puri were detected.
