Partially satisfied over the State Government’s move in appointing a new CMD of the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC), the All Odisha State Road Transport Staff Association on Monday postponed their proposed one-day strike on Tuesday.
“On July 28, the Government appointed a new OSRTC CMD, thereby ensuring a good atmosphere for a dialogue to solve our issues. Hence, we decided to postpone our proposed strike on July 30,” said association general secretary Prasant Kumar Rout. The association has been demanding fulfilment of a five-point charter of demands including stopping of outsourcing, regularisation of all contractual employees, implementation of the Sixth Pay Commission report retrospectively from Jan 1, 2006, besides transfer of the OSRTC CMD.
