The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) on Monday announced to resume its bus services on 43 routes in Category-A districts (where Covid positivity rates are low) from Tuesday onwards following the Government’s fresh Covid-19 lockdown guidelines implemented from July 1.
These Government buses would run from 16 depots of the OSRTC in Category-A districts. While wearing masks is mandatory for all passengers travelling on the buses, inter-district and intra-district buses would be operational only within fixed seating capacity. No passengers would be allowed to stand.
Disinfection and sanitisation of the vehicles would be done by the OSRTC. OSRTC Chairman-cum-Managing Director Diptesh Kumar Pattanayak urged the public to maintain social distancing and not to crowd the bus.
The depots from where buses are allowed to run are Angul, Bargarh, Bhawanipatna, Jeypore, Keonjhar, Malkangiri, Nabarangapur, Nuapada, Padampur, Paralakhemundi, Phulbani, Rayagada, Rourkel, Sundargarh and Sambalpur.
