Amid the surge in Covid-19 cases, the State Government has refused to accept supplies of protective gears for health workers to fight the cornavirus outbreak.
Earlier, the Odisha State Medical Corporation Limited (OSMCL) had floated a tender seeking procurement of personal protective equipments (PPEs) like triple-layer masks, N95 masks and nose clip adjustable masks for healthcare workers by July 2020. However later, the OSMCL, due to some reasons, changed its mind and said it would not accept the orders from the suppliers after May 26.
But in the meantime a number of trucks arrived with the supplies and are parked outside the OSMCL godowns for over a week. But the OSMCL has stood its ground and refused to accept the supplies.
