The Odisha State Financial Corporation (OSFC) has disbursed a total loan amount of Rs 1,310 crore to 28,222 industrial units since its inception till 2016-17 and collected Rs 1,980.80 crore by end of 2016-17.
Public Enterprises Minister informed this in the State Assembly in response to a question of Congress MLA Kailash Chandra Kulesika on Tuesday.
The Minister said 8,387 industries have not repaid loans to the corporation.
Though the OFSC had given a total of loan of Rs 4.58 crore to 13 industrial units during 2010-11 and 2014-15, in reality the organisation has remained incapable of paying loans since 2003-04.
By end of 2017-18, the OSFC had to get a total of Rs 4,442 crore as outstanding loan and interest from various industrial units, said the Minister.
