The Technical Employees Union of the OSEB condemned the “anti-employee attitude” of the Southern Electricity Distribution Company (Southco) and adopted a resolution to continue fighting for protection of their rights at a meeting held her on Monday.
Union president NN Das presided over the meeting and general secretary BB Mohanty placed demands for discussion.
The demands include payment of all pending dues and arrears to the employees forthwith, payment of RACP to Junior Technicians, regularisatrion of all contractual employees, renovation of staff quarters, regular supply of drinking pipe-water to their colonies, stopping of franchise system and formation of anomaly committee determining appropriate wage from time to time.
The members decided to intensify stir if the demands are not met at the earliest.
Hundreds of union members and workers joined the meeting.
