The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Monday arrested another director of Oscar chit fund firm, Prabhat Patnaik, from the Khallikote area in Ganjam district.
Meanwhile, Oscar Group chairman Prabhas Rout, whose five-day remand ended on Monday, and Patnaik were sent to the Choudwar Circle Jail after they were produced before a special court in Cuttack.
Notably, the Crime Branch had taken Rout on remand for ten days in two phases of five days each. During interrogation of Rout, the investigating agency has got significant clues regarding links between his firm and Ollywood, sources said, adding that the Crime Branch is likely to interrogate some actors of the cine industry soon.
Besides, Rout is accused of defrauding gullible investors to the tune of `230 crore in Odisha, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
