The Odisha Soochana Adhikar Abhiyan Gajapati (OSAA) unit organised a district level workshop on the RTI Act 2005 at the district headquarters town Paralakhemundi on the Gandhi Jayanti.
The aim was to create awareness on the Act and encourage its use to fight against the corruption. OSAA Gajapati district convenor Amodh Kumar Bardhan said the main purpose is to ensure transparency and accountability in public life so that common people will get justice.
He also lamented lack of cooperation from the PIOs. OSAA Gajapati unit district acting convenor Krushna Chandra Sahu spoke among others.
The office bearers of OSAA were nominated on the occasion. Bardhan was declared as a district president of the district committee and Sahu as core committee district president, Nageswar Mohapatra as town vice president, Sujit Pradhan as district media representative and Rajendra Patnaik as district core committee secretary.
