An orientation programme for the in-charge officials of Mahila and Sishu Desk (MSD) and Integrated Human Trafficking Unit was organised here at the North Orissa Chamber of Commerce and Industry by the Crime against Women and Children Wing (CAW&CW).
Additional DG (CAW&CW) Rekha Lohani while attended the meeting as chief guest, DIG (ER) Himansu Lal and Superintendent of Police SS Mishra were present in the inaugural session.
The MSD officials could adopt a more compassionate and empathetic approach towards victims of gender violence, the speakers said.
The participants were apprised about various stakeholders existing in the district dealing with the women and child issues.
Handbooks, tool kits for MSD officials and investigation roadmap for crime against women and children, and aid to MSD were given to the participants.
The programme was conducted with the help of Childline India Foundation, South Zone with technical collaboration of UNICEF.
