Organisational issues: Odisha Cong leaders meet Rahul Gandhi

Published on:

Amid speculation that changes are likely in the Odisha Congress ranks, four senior party leaders from the State including Union Minister Srikant Jena on Saturday met party vice-president Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi.

At an hour-long meeting with them, Gandhi spoke on “organisational issues” and Friday’s bandh-turned-hartal in the State called by the ruling BJD seeking Special Category State status for Odisha.

“We discussed the issues related to party organisation. The hartal sponsored by the BJD also came up for discussion,” Jena told reporters after the meeting.

The other party leaders, who met Gandhi at the latter’s instance, were Kalahandi MP Bhakta Charan Das, former PCC chief Jayadev Jena and former PCC working president lalatendu Bidyadhar (lulu) Mohapatra.
