On the occasion of World Organ Donation Day on August 13, Young Indians (Yi) Bhubaneswar Chapter, an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in collaboration with the All India Medical Students Association (AIMSA ) organized a “Gift An Organ” (GAO) campaign.
Besides in Bhubaneswar, it was organized at Rourkela, Brahmapur, Cuttack, involving the hospitals and medical colleges. At Forum Mart, the campaign was led by chairman, YI Bhubaneswar
chapter Matrudutta Mishra, Supreeti Mishra, Md Afaque Arman Subhashree Mallick, Abhijit Upadhaya from AIMSA among others. Members of AIMSA interacted with the public and conveyed message on the importance as well as the medical procedure of organ donation to the general public.
There was a motivating play by the medical students titled “Gift an Organ” showcasing how organ donation is important for both the donor and acceptor. Apart from the play, there was a selfi zone “Be a donor…. Be a Hero.
