Order on loudspeaker use breached by K’pada official

A video went viral over the last couple of days in the district as some senior officials of the district, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), were found violating the Supreme Court direction on the use of loudspeaker. They misbehaved with the police, who came to stop the loud speaker.

It is seen in the viral video that on the closing day of State level Pallishree Mela held at Kendrapada Autonomous College ground, the SDM and other senior officials of the district allegedly danced till 11.30 pm to the tune of the Odia album hit songs. They asked the melody party artisans to blow loud speakers beyond permissible limit, though the use of loud speaker and music system is banned between 10 pm and 6 am.

According to Gayadhar Dhal, a social activist, it’s purely unfortunate that CDO-cum-EO Zilla Parisad Rajendra Kumar Panda and Sub Collector-cum- Sub Divisional Magistrate Rabindra Kumar Pradhan, besides other officials of the district administration, were found violating the Supreme Court order. Are rules only meant for common people, he asked.

The intellectual masses and senior citizens of the district demanded before CM of Odisha to take stern action against the officials by starting a probe on the matter.
