During the last day’s debate on the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s Address to the Assembly, Leader of Opposition Pradipta Naik (BJP) reacted sharply to the Government’s achievements listed in the Governor’s speech, saying there is a lot of mismatch on what the Government is preaching and what it is practically implementing. “While States like Gujarat are providing electricity to farmers on a priority basis, Odisha is charging more than Rs 545 as unit cost. Whereas farmers across the country are getting the 7th instalment under PM Kishan Nidhi, the Odish Government has deprived lakhs of farmers of this benefit”, said Naik
He alleged that To get vote you are providing 57 lakh farmers under KALIA Scheme but are unable to submit list to Union Government.Congress Legislature Party Leader Narasingha Mishra stated that taking credit of everything has been the hallmark of this Government, which has failed to protect the State’s territory (refereeing toKotia boundary dispute). While issue had first surfaced in 1968 during the RN Singh Deo Government, in 2006 both BJD and BJP, which shared power, underplayed the issue. Because of less privileges in Odisha, people of Kotia are opting for Andhra Pradesh.
