Even as the BJP Mahila Morcha and the Mahila Congress stepped up their stir seeking ouster of Minister Pradeep Maharathy for his statements on the court verdict in the Pipili gangrape and murder case, the BJD on Thursday said the agitation is nothing but political gimmick.
Party spokesperson Sasmit Patra said the State Government has taken adequate steps regarding the Pipili case, but the Opposition parties are unnecessarily raising a hue and cry over it. The people of the State would give a befitting reply to them, he added.
