The Supreme Court on Thursday asked the Odisha Government to produce complete information and records over the alleged encroachment of Government land by the Odisha Olympic Association (OOA). The court posted the next hearing for December 2.
The judiciary committee, led by the Cuttack District Judge, had submitted a detailed report on the issue to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope on September 30.
The apex court on May 7 had directed the Orissa High Court to form a three-member panel of judges headed by the District Judge with two more additional judges nominated by the acting Chief Justice of the High Court to probe the alleged encroachment of Government land, on which the Barabati Palace and 23 shops have been erected.
The court had also directed the Odisha Accountant General (AG) to submit a report on the financial transactions of the Barabati Palace and other business establishments built on the land.
Notably, the High Court in November last had directed the Cuttack district administration to take possession of the Barabati Palace and the other business establishments and asked the Crime Branch to probe the modus operandi of the OOA.
However, challenging the High Court order, the OOA had later moved the Supreme Court.
