Only vaccinated persons allowed in religious places

The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Tuesday directed the religious institutions authorities in the city to allow only Covid-19 vaccinated (double dose) persons to enter religious places like temples, mosques, churches, Gurudwaras, etc. “Considering the current pandemic situation and vaccination coverage, it is hereby decided that the persons who have been fully vaccinated will only be allowed inside any religious institution,” an order of the BMC said.

The religious institutions authorities shall ensure this at their level during the functioning of the institutions. A person producing the soft copy in mobile phone would be enough for allowing him/ her inside the institutions, the order stated.

A BMC enforcement team would conduct frequent checks to ensure the adherence of the guidelines. Any institution found violating these provisions would be viewed seriously and the concerned institution would not be allowed to function, the order added.
