Only 95 tourists visit BNP on opening day

Published on:

Only 95 tourists visited the nature’s paradise at the Bhitarkanika National Park (BNP) on the first day of its reopening on Monday after a gap of three months. The Bhitarkanika Forest personnel had earlier restricted tourists’ entry into the park from May 1 to July 31 because of the estuarine crocodiles’ nesting season. This year, the forest personnel have sighted as many as 75 crocodile nests in three Forest Ranges under the Bhitarkanika National Park, informed Rajnagar Mangrove (Forest) and Wildlife Division DFO Bimal Prasanna Acharya.
