As the State Government has increased the maximum ceiling of marriage-related gatherings, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Monday began online booking for the Kalyan Mandaps under its jurisdiction.
“The Kalyan Mandaps will start operating with strict adherence to the Government’s Covid-19 guidelines,” said BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhury. He warned that BMC squads would ensure strict vigilance to check if social distancing and other safety protocols are violated.
Notably, the Government in its Unlick 6.0 guidelines has allowed a maximum number of 200 persons in marriage-related gatherings with certain conditions such as a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity would be allowed in closed places subject to the above ceiling.
And, mask wearing, social distancing and provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash and sanitiser are mandatory.
