The State Government has decided to introduce the online attendance system for students and teachers in schools, informed School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday.

The system would be implemented on a pilot basis in one school per district, he said. The Minister further informed that as many as 100 ‘Schools of Excellence’ would be identified where spoken English and computer education would be imparted. Other infrastructure-related assistances would also be provided to these 100 schools, he said.

A new helpline– 14417– has been launched by the School & Mass Education Department for the students, Dash said.
