A ‘One Station-One Product’ outlet was inaugurated in the 4th platform complex of Brahmapur railway station on Wednesday by BeMC Mayor Sanghamitra Dalai, District Rural Development Projects Director V Keertki Vasan and BeMC Commissioner J Sonal.
BeMC Mayor Dalai in her address appreciated the efforts of ORMAS for providing right direction to the SHG women. The basic objective of the outlet, which is a first of its kind in the State, is to sell different food products of Brahmapur like Papad, aachar, different kinds of traditional badi, oil, agarabati sticks and snacks.
Members of the Maa Kanaka Durga Women’s Self Help Group of Balarampur village under Sundarpur panchayat have taken the responsibility of running the outlet. A total of 35 female members/producers of different products have been engaged for overall marketing and management of the outlet, sources said.
