One more doctor in Sundargarh district lost his life battling with the coronavirus on Friday. The Covid warrior Rahas Bihari Mohapatra, who was serving at the Lathikata Primary Health Centre, died while undergoing treatment at the KIMS in Bhubaneswar.
Dr Mohapatra had tested Covid-positive on August 3 and was admitted to the Hi-Tech Covid Hospital here before being shifted to the KIMS Hospital after his condition deteriorated.
The doctor was staying with his wife at Utkal Nagar in Fertilizer Township here while his children reside in New Zealand. After his death, wife Manju, who is also reportedly sick and being treated here, has appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to make arrangements to send his body to Rourkela.
Last week, a 60-year-old doctor of the Rourkela Government Hospital had succumbed to the decease at the Hi-Tech Covid Hospital. The corona warrior Dr Arun Kumar Das was given guard of honour by the local police.
