Police on Wednesday interrogated Bindas Chinu, whose name deceased Zilla Parishad Member Dharmendra Sahoo had mentioned in a phone call to a friend.
Chinu was quizzed by police at the Bhubaneswar DCP office. Later, she said to the media that Minister Samir Ranjan Dash is her uncle and she came to know Dharmendra through the Minister.
“I was looking after the Minister’s and the deceased’s social media accounts. I had relationship with Dharmendra’s family. I am cooperating with the police in investigation and told them what they wanted to know from me,” said Chinu.
Notably, the BJD ZP Member was found hanging in his residence at Sishupalgarh on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar on September 24.
Later, BJP leader Pravati Parida brought the telephonic conversation between the Sahoo and a journalist to the fore at a Press conference.
Meanwhile, the BJP on Wednesday demanded Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to immediately sack the Minister from the Cabinet and ensure an impartial investigation into the death of the ZP.
Party members held a dharna before the statue of Utkalgaurav Madhusudan Das in front of the Raj Bhavan. They said that the investigation would be unbiased only when the Minister is dropped from the Cabinet.
