The State on Monday reported 816 new Covid-19 positive cases in 28 districts and the State pool, with which the total tally went up to 12,99,28.
Among the newly-infected were 118 children in the age group of 0 to 18 years.
Notably, the State had recorded 872 Covid cases on Sunday.
Out of the new cases, 477 cases were from quarantine and 339 local contacts.
Khordha district registered day’s highest 218 cases followed by Sundargarh with 141, Cuttack 78, Sambalpur 57, Mayurbhanj 29, Jajpur and Nayagarh 26 each, Puri 20, Subarnapur 14 each, Baleswar, Jharsuguda and Jagatsinghpur 13 each, Kalahandi 12, Boudh 11, Balangir and Keonjhar 10 each, Gajapati nine, Bhadrak eight, Nabarangpur, Kandhamal, Angul and Bargarh seven each, Rayagada and Dhenkanal six each, Deogarh five, Koraput three and Nuapada one,
Besides, 46 cases were reported from the State pool.
The number of active cases rose to 5,911.
One more person succumbed to the disease in the day, increasing the total death toll to 9,130 in the State.
So far, 12,84, 835 patients have recovered from the disease.
