The Town police arrested a resident of Talcher Thana Sahi Hasib Khan (33) for duping a person of Rs 3.5 lakh in the guise of providing him a piece of land in the city.
Police sources said in 2015, Hasib had taken Rs 3.5 lakh from a resident of Golila Street Sadamin Nisha for providing a plot at Ankushpur. But even after a long time neither he provided the land nor returned the money. Finding no other way out, on August 27, 2016 Nisha filed a case in the connection with the Town police. The police after investigations arrested the accused Hasib.
In another case, the Town police arrested a youth of Nandighar village under the Dharakote police station for snatching a motorbike from a person near Vishal Mega Mart. The accused was identified as Santosh Sethy.On Saturday night a resident of Ramkrushana Nagar Durga Prasad Bhuyan had come to the market, Santosh had snatched his bike and fled from the spot, said Town police station IIC Nihar Pradhan.
